Best Dog Wipes Compared: Pack Size, Scent and Listing Claims

Best Dog Wipes Compared: Pack Size, Scent and Listing Claims

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Details

Best dog wipes are chosen on four points: how many wipes a pack holds, how big each wipe is, whether it comes as a sheet or a glove, and what scent the listing describes. The seven listings in our research file differ on all four. This guide sets out what each listing states, works out the total area per pack from the sizes it gives, and keeps listing claims apart from what the sources we opened say. Where a listing is silent, the table says not stated.

Quick answer

  • Count and size come first. Pack counts run from 20 glove wipes to 400 wipes, and the stated wipe sizes run from 7.8 by 7.8 inches to 10 by 9 inches.
  • Scent is the main split. Three listings name a lavender or scented formula, two say unscented or fragrance-free, and two do not state a scent.
  • Two Petazy listings share one title but disagree on scent, so read the scent line on the listing you open.
  • None of the pages we opened describes a pre-moistened pet wipe, so none says a wipe can replace a bath. This guide does not say that it can.

What the sources say about bathing and paw care

Three non-Amazon sources were opened for this guide: two pages from the American Kennel Club, one page from the ASPCA, and a grooming summary from Colorado State University Extension. All of them cover bathing, paws or coat care. None describes a pre-moistened pet wipe, so the points below are about those practices and not about the wipes in the table.

The AKC soap-and-water article says a dog can usually be bathed weekly with a gentle shampoo without drying out its coat. The AKC bath-time article says most experts recommend bathing as infrequently as possible, to keep natural oils in the coat and skin, and that bath frequency depends on how much time a dog spends outdoors. The two AKC pages do not give the same guidance on frequency, so the answer depends on which page you read.

The ASPCA recommends bathing a dog at least once every three months, with more frequent baths for a dog that spends a lot of time outdoors. For the face, the same page advises against shampooing the head and suggests a wet washcloth to remove dirt or debris. That describes a washcloth, not a wipe, so it does not settle the question for wipes.

For paws, the ASPCA advises washing them in warm water after walks in snow or icy weather to rinse away salt and chemicals. It also warns against human hand moisturizers on the pads, because they can soften the pads and lead to injury. For cracked or dry pads, it suggests asking a veterinarian for a pad moisturizer. For nails, see the nail grinder how-to.

For coat care, the ASPCA says regular brushing or combing removes dirt, spreads natural oils through the coat and prevents tangles, and that how often to brush depends on coat type. The Colorado State University Extension chapter treats grooming as a health management system rather than only cosmetic work. Its learning objectives include identifying the major canine coat types and selecting grooming tools. This guide treats coat type as the reason to check what each listing says it is for. For the bath itself, see the dog shampoo guide. For shedding and loose hair, see the brush guide for loose hair.

Comparison of the seven listings

Table 1 uses only what each listing states in its bullets or specification fields. A blank would be a guess, so the table says not stated instead.

Listing Wipes per pack Format and stated size Scent (per listing) Other stated points
PawSono, 400 count 400 Wipes, 8 by 9 inches Not stated Non-flushable note
HICC PET, glove design 20 Glove, 10 by 9 inches Not stated Directions say no rinsing is needed; spec lists a 1-year warranty
Petazy, fragrance-free 400 (four 100-count packs) Wipes, 8 by 8 inches Fragrance-free Four glove wipes in the set
IMMHABI, 400 count 400 Square wipes, 7.8 by 7.8 inches Unscented Plant fiber material per bullets
Best Pet Supplies, lavender 100 Wipes, 8 by 9 inches Lavender Resealable pouch
REFRESHIFY, 400 pack 400, plus 12 travel wipes Not stated Lavender Travel wipes individually wrapped
Petazy, lavender 400 (four 100-count packs) Wipes, 8 by 8 inches Lavender Four glove wipes in the set

The three lavender or scented listings and the two unscented or fragrance-free listings make the clearest split in the table. Two listings say nothing about scent, so the table does not guess at one.

Surface area per pack

We multiplied the wipe count by the width and height of one wipe to get a total area per pack in square inches. The formula is wipes x width x height. The listings state the sizes, so the result is a total of listing figures. It does not measure cleaning ability, thickness or absorbency, because no listing gives those in figures.

  • PawSono: 400 x 8 x 9 = 28,800 square inches.
  • IMMHABI: 400 x 7.8 x 7.8 = 24,336 square inches.
  • Petazy, fragrance-free and lavender: 400 x 8 x 8 = 25,600 square inches each.
  • Best Pet Supplies: 100 x 8 x 9 = 7,200 square inches.
  • HICC PET: 20 x 10 x 9 = 1,800 square inches.
  • REFRESHIFY: not calculated, because the listing does not state a wipe size.

The PawSono pack has the largest area in the file. The gap between the PawSono and IMMHABI packs is 4,464 square inches (28,800 minus 24,336). Area is only one factor, and scent and format decide much of the rest.

How we chose

  • The research file for this keyword records Amazon.com as its source, checked on 2026-10-21, and lists seven listings. We kept all seven and added none.
  • The file holds no price, rating or sales figures, so this guide uses none of them.
  • We did not rank the listings. The table follows the order in the file, not a score.
  • Each product section gives who the listing suits, one strength, one limit and a skip-if line. Each strength and limit comes from that listing’s bullets or specification fields.
  • Two listings share a title, so their headings name the scent to tell them apart.
  • The sources we opened were used for bathing, paw and coat context only. They were not used to rate any product.

Buying checklist

  1. Check the count on the listing and whether it is one pack or several packs.
  2. Compare the stated wipe size with the area you need to clean, using the table above.
  3. Choose sheet or glove. HICC PET is the only listing sold as a glove design; the Petazy sets include four glove wipes as a bonus.
  4. Read the scent line in the bullets. For the two Petazy listings, read the heading, since the headings differ.
  5. For travel, check whether travel wipes come in the set, as they do with REFRESHIFY and the Petazy sets.
  6. For skin wording, read the claims section below and treat those words as the seller’s claims.
  7. Close the lid after use if the pack has one. The Petazy specification field tells the owner to close the lid after use.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Treating a wipe as a bath. The bathing pages we opened describe shampoo, rinsing and drying, and none covers wipes. The HICC PET bullets call the product a bath alternative. This guide does not repeat that.
  • Choosing by scent alone. Two listings say unscented or fragrance-free, three name lavender or a scent, and two do not state one. Scent is one part of the choice, not all of it.
  • Assuming every 400-count pack is the same. The stated sizes range from 7.8 by 7.8 to 8 by 9 inches, so the area per pack differs by a wide margin.
  • Flushing used wipes. The PawSono bullets include a non-flushable note, so put used wipes in the trash.
  • Skipping a paw rinse in winter. The ASPCA advises rinsing paws in warm water after walks in snow or ice, and it does not mention wipes for that step. For winter walks, see the snow boot guide.
  • Reading listing wording as a test result. Words such as hypoallergenic, safe for sensitive skin and lick-safe come from the listings. The sources we opened do not check them.
  • Putting human moisturizer on the pads. The ASPCA warns against human hand moisturizers on dog pads.

Product picks

Each section uses only the listing’s bullets and specification fields. Ingredient, pH, fragrance and skin wording is attributed to the listing, because the sources we opened do not verify it.

PawSono 400 count, 8 by 9 inch wipes

Suits owners with more than one pet who want a large supply. The bullets describe the pack as suited to multi-pet families.

Strength: a 400-count pack with an 8 by 9 inch wipe, both stated in the listing.

Limit: the listing says the wipes are non-flushable, and it states no scent. It describes the material as ultra-thick but gives no thickness figure.

The bullets name calendula, oat, cucumber, coconut oil and jojoba oil, and call the formula lick-safe. We did not check either claim.

Skip if: you need wipes you can flush.

HICC PET glove wipes, 20 count

Suits owners who prefer a glove to a sheet. The directions say to put the glove on your hand, wipe the coat, and let the coat air dry, with no rinsing.

Strength: it is the only listing in the file sold as a glove design, and its stated size is 10 by 9 inches.

Limit: at 20 wipes it is the smallest pack in the file. The bullets call the product a 2023 winner in the USA without naming the award body.

Skip if: you need a large supply in one pack.

Petazy 400 count, fragrance-free

Suits owners who want a wipe the listing describes as fragrance-free. The bullets say the formula has zero scent additives.

Strength: four 100-count packs with resealable flip-top lids, plus four glove wipes in the set.

Limit: the bullets give 8 by 8 inches, but the specification field gives product dimensions of 8 by 3.94 by 3.15 inches. The listing does not say which figure applies to the wipe.

Skip if: you want the lavender scent named in the other Petazy listing.

IMMHABI 400 count square wipes

Suits owners who want a square wipe at a stated 7.8 by 7.8 inches. The bullets suggest folding a wipe in half for the rear and paws.

Strength: the listing states unscented and says the formula is free from artificial fragrances, alcohol and parabens.

Limit: the bullets say the wipes are infused with zinc diricinoleate for odor and give no usage steps. The directions field reads “Do not flash.”

Skip if: you want usage steps written in the listing.

Best Pet Supplies lavender pouch, 100 count

Suits owners who want one 100-count pouch with a lavender scent.

Strength: 8 by 9 inch wipes in a resealable pouch, which the bullets say keeps the wipes moist.

Limit: the bullets name lavender and vitamin E, but the specification field gives the material as rattan, which does not describe the wipe. The directions field says the product is for topical use only.

Skip if: you want an unscented wipe.

REFRESHIFY 400 pack with 12 travel wipes

Suits owners who want travel wipes in the same set. The listing includes 12 individually wrapped wipes with four 100-count packs.

Strength: 412 wipes in total, 400 plus 12 travel wipes, which is the highest stated count in the file.

Limit: the listing gives no wipe size in its bullets or specification fields, so no area figure is possible. It names a lavender scent and calls the wipes 100% organic, which we could not check.

Skip if: you need the wipe size before you buy.

Petazy 400 count, lavender

Suits owners who want a lavender-scented wipe. The bullets say a light lavender fragrance is meant to help calm a pet during wipe-downs.

Strength: the same four 100-count packs and four glove wipes as the fragrance-free Petazy set, with an 8 by 8 inch wipe size in the bullets.

Limit: the bullets say the wipes smell fresh rather than perfumed, but they do carry a lavender scent, so this is not the fragrance-free option. The specification field lists the item as 3.94 by 3.94 by 3.94 inches, which does not match the 8 by 8 inch bullets.

Skip if: you want a fragrance-free wipe.

What we could not verify

  • Skin, allergy and safety wording. The listings use hypoallergenic, gentle, non-irritating, safe for sensitive skin and itch-reducing wording. PawSono says gentle enough for sensitive areas. HICC PET says suitable for pets with sensitive skin. Both Petazy listings say hypoallergenic and safe for daily use, and the fragrance-free listing also refers to dogs with allergies or skin conditions. Best Pet Supplies says reduces dryness and itchiness. REFRESHIFY says 100% safe for dry, itchy and sensitive skin. The sources we opened do not check any of these, so they appear here only as listing claims.
  • Ingredients, pH and fragrance. The listings name ingredients: Petazy names aloe vera, yucca extract, avocado, coconut oil and cucumber; PawSono names calendula, oat, cucumber, coconut oil and jojoba oil; HICC PET names fermented coconut oil, aloe vera and oat extract; IMMHABI names zinc diricinoleate and aloe leaf extract; Best Pet Supplies names lavender and vitamin E; REFRESHIFY names vitamin E, aloe leaf, lavender oil, avocado and yucca. Three listings say pH-balanced. None of the sources we opened verifies an ingredient, a pH value or a fragrance for any wipe, and no listing gives a pH figure. This guide makes no ingredient or pH claim of its own.
  • Organic, award and health wording. REFRESHIFY says 100% organic and guaranteed to leave the pet happy and healthy. HICC PET names a 2023 award without naming the body. The file names no certifier or award body, so we could not check these.
  • Odor claims. Several listings say they deodorize or neutralize odor, and IMMHABI says its wipes eliminate anal gland smell. The sources we opened do not cover wipes or anal gland odor, so we did not check these claims and do not repeat the anal gland one.
  • Measurements that conflict or are missing. The two Petazy listings give 8 by 8 inch wipes in the bullets, but their specification dimensions do not match, and the listing does not say which figure applies to the wipe. REFRESHIFY gives no wipe size. Best Pet Supplies gives its material as rattan, which does not describe the wipe.
  • Coverage of the listings. The file holds the bullets and specification fields as captured on 2026-10-21. We did not open the full product pages, the images or the questions and answers, so anything outside those fields is not covered here.
  • Bathing frequency. The two AKC pages differ, and the ASPCA gives a minimum interval of three months. None of the pages gives a rate for wipes, so this guide gives none.
  • Scent and comfort. None of the sources we opened says whether scent affects a dog’s comfort, so this guide does not rank scents.

FAQ

Can dog wipes replace a bath?

The pages we opened describe bathing with shampoo, rinsing and drying. None of them describes a pre-moistened wipe, so this guide does not say that wipes can replace a bath.

How often should a dog be bathed?

The sources do not agree in full. The AKC soap-and-water article says a dog can usually be bathed weekly with a gentle shampoo, while the AKC bath-time article says most experts recommend bathing as infrequently as possible. The ASPCA recommends at least once every three months, with more frequent baths for dogs that spend a lot of time outdoors. These figures are about bathing, not wipes.

Does scent matter to a dog?

The sources we opened do not say whether scent affects a dog’s comfort. The listings differ: three name lavender or a scent, two say unscented or fragrance-free, and two do not state a scent. Read the scent line on each listing and choose the one that fits your situation.

Are dog wipes safe for sensitive skin?

Several listings say so, and those words belong to the listings. None of the sources we opened checks a wipe’s effect on skin, so this guide does not make that claim. If your dog has a skin concern, ask a veterinarian before choosing a product.

How should paws be cared for after a winter walk?

The ASPCA recommends washing paws in warm water after walks in snow or ice to rinse away salt and chemicals. It advises against human hand moisturizers on the pads and suggests asking a veterinarian for a pad moisturizer when pads are cracked or dry. The page does not mention wipes for this step.

How do I compare wipe sizes across packs?

Multiply the number of wipes by the width and height of one wipe, using the stated figures. For the PawSono pack, 400 x 8 x 9 = 28,800 square inches. The result is a total of the listed figures, and it does not measure cleaning power.

Bottom line

Choose on count and wipe size first, then scent, then format. The four non-Amazon sources we opened cover bathing, paws and coat care, but none describes a pre-moistened wipe, so this guide makes no claim about skin, safety or replacing a bath. Where a listing makes one, the wording stays with that listing. Disclosure: some links on this page are Amazon affiliate links, and we may earn a commission on purchases made through them.
