Zomisia Dog Crates, Cooling Mats and Stairs: 12 Listings Compared

Zomisia dog products in our research pool cover six kinds of item: cooling pads, collapsible crates, an elevated cot, a set of stairs, a reversible mattress and a food container. If you are shopping for a zomisia dog product, start with the problem you want solved. Heat, containment, a way up onto furniture and a sleeping surface each call for a different listing, and the crate sizes are the figures most likely to go wrong. This guide covers all twelve products and marks the places where the listings disagree.
Quick answer
- Five of the twelve are crates. The 36-inch hard-sided crate is the one whose bullets and specifications give different dimensions, so measure the space before you order it.
- Three cooling pads are sized 41 by 27 inches in their titles, and their bullets give a Q-Max figure above 0.5. The sources we opened do not explain what that figure means for a dog.
- The stair set is 22.8 inches high in its bullets, although its title says it reaches up to 25 inches. Use the bullet figure for the bed height you need to reach.
- The food container holds from 7 to 50 pounds of food according to its bullets, while its title says 40 to 50 pounds. Use the bullets for the range.
Start with what the dog needs
A dog can overheat, and the sources we opened describe how quickly that happens. AKC’s heatstroke page says dogs cool themselves mainly by panting, by changes in blood vessels and, to a smaller extent, through the paw pads. It sets the internal temperature of about 105.8 degrees Fahrenheit as the point where a dog may suffer heatstroke, and it says heatstroke can develop within minutes in hot or humid places and in enclosed spaces. Those facts matter for a cooling pad, a crate and a car. They do not show that any pad prevents heat stress, and this guide does not say so.
Cornell’s osteoarthritis page gives the other half of the picture. It lists non-slip rugs and ramps among everyday measures that help a dog get onto beds, couches or cars, and it lists difficulty getting up from lying down among the signs that arthritis is affecting a dog. Those two points explain why the stairs and the elevated cot sit in the same guide as the crates. They are aids for getting on and off, not treatments, and a vet should judge any joint problem.
AKC’s bed guide adds a point about cots. It says cot-style beds can help keep dogs cool and help support joints. The Zomisia cot in this set is the only true cot in the twelve, and its listing does not make a joint claim. The bullets describe a mesh that elevates the dog and a frame that is easy to assemble.
Crates: the sizes do not agree
The five crates are the largest group in this set, and they are where the listings disagree most. AKC’s crate guide says a dog needs enough room to sit, stand and lie down comfortably, and that a crate should not be much larger than that. It advises measuring the dog standing and in length, then adding 3 to 4 inches to each figure to get the crate size you need. The table below gives each crate’s listed dimensions in both places the listing gives them.
| Crate (listing short form) | Type | Dimensions in specifications (inches) | Dimensions in bullets (inches) | Dog breed size | Maximum weight or item weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 36-inch collapsible crate, beige, large dogs | Hard-sided, wheels | 36.42 by 24.2 by 26 | 27.95 by 18.9 by 21.65 | Large | Item weight 13.25 kilograms |
| 28-inch collapsible crate, beige, medium dogs | Hard-sided, wheels | 27.95 by 18.9 by 21.65 | not repeated | Medium | Warranty field reads No |
| 28-inch collapsible crate with bed mat, medium dogs | Hard-sided, wheels | 28.35 by 19.17 by 21.42 | 28-inch and 36-inch sizes named | Medium and Small | not stated |
| 28-inch collapsible crate, woodgrain | Hard-sided, wheels | 27.95 by 18.9 by 21.65 | 27.95 by 18.9 by 21.65 | Medium and Small | Warranty field reads No |
| 36-inch soft-sided crate, grey, large dogs | Soft-sided, zipper door | 36 by 25 by 25 | three sizes named | Large | Maximum weight 70 pounds |
The 36-inch hard-sided crate shows the problem clearly. Its specifications give 36.42 by 24.2 by 26 inches, and that is a floor of about 881 square inches (36.42 times 24.2 is about 881). Its bullets give 27.95 by 18.9 by 21.65 inches, which is the footprint of the 28-inch crates, and that gives a floor of about 528 square inches (27.95 times 18.9 is about 528). The bullets match the wording of the 28 inch crates. This guide gives both figures and does not pick one for a car or for a corner. Measure the space you plan to use before you order.
The two 28-inch hard-sided crates share the same bullets, and their specifications match those bullets. The bed-mat version gives a different footprint, 28.35 by 19.17 inches, which is a little larger. Its bullets also name a 36-inch size, although its specifications describe only the 28-inch model. If you need the 36-inch size, check the separate listing.
The soft-sided 36-inch crate is a different kind of product. It is made from polyester, its bullets describe iron pipe frames and 600D Oxford fabric, and its specifications list a maximum weight of 70 pounds. Its title and specifications say 36 inches long, and its bullets name three sizes, so ask which size the listing you are looking at refers to before you buy.
The soft crate’s bullets describe mesh windows that let you watch the dog. AKC’s crate guide says metal crates suit dogs that chew through other materials, while fabric crates suit a small breed that does not chew. A soft-sided crate is the fabric type, so it fits a dog that does not chew through the sides. The hard-sided crates in the set are described as heavy duty, and the bullets say the wire and plastic are reinforced, but the listings give no chew rating for either type.
For a car, the crate is in an enclosed space, and AKC’s heatstroke page warns that heatstroke can develop within minutes in cars. Keep any crate out of direct sun, and never leave a dog inside a parked car.
The cooling pads: 41 by 27 inches, and a figure nobody explains
Three products in the set are sized 41 by 27 inches in their titles. They are a cooling bed for a crate, a grey cooling mat and a blue cooling mat, and all three give a Q-Max figure above 0.5 in their bullets. The cooling bed is the thickest of the three, at 3 inches, and it has an egg-crate foam core and a removable cover with bamboo rayon. The two mats are thin, at 1 inch in the specifications, and they use a lightweight fabric with fibre filling.
The 41 by 27 inch size is 1,107 square inches of floor (41 times 27 is 1,107), which is enough for a large dog to lie down in a crate that is at least that big. The mats give no weight limit in their listings, so the size is the only fit figure for them. The bullets for the cooling bed call its surface relieving for joints, a claim the sources we opened do not make about any bed.
The Q-Max figure appears in all three listings, and none of the listings explains it. The sources we opened do not define it, and this guide does not use it as evidence that a pad cools a dog. The mat bullets say the mats are fully machine washable and can be tumble dried on low heat. The cooling bed’s cover is machine washable, and its foam core is not described as washable.
Two of the pads are described as OEKO-TEX Standard 100 in their bullets or their wording. That is the listing’s own wording, and the research pool gives no certificate number, so the claim stays with the listing.
The elevated cot, the stairs and the mattress
The cot is the largest product in the set by floor area. It measures 48 by 33 inches, which is 1,584 square inches (48 times 33 is 1,584), or about 1.43 times the 41 by 27 inch pads (1,584 divided by 1,107 is about 1.43). Its bullets say the mesh raises the dog 8 inches, the frame carries up to 150 pounds, and it folds flat for car trips and hikes. Its listing gives no weight figure in the specifications, so the 150 pound limit rests on the bullets alone. The bullets also describe a tool-free assembly with elastic connectors and snap fasteners.
Cornell’s osteoarthritis page lists non-slip ramps as a useful measure for getting onto beds, but a cot is not a ramp. A dog that struggles to get onto a raised bed may need steps or a ramp, and the cot is the wrong tool for that job. For a dog that struggles to get on, see the stairs below. For a broader set of raised beds from other makers, see elevated pet beds from other makers.
The stairs are a five-step set, and they split into two pieces with a zipper. The bullets give step heights of 15.7 inches for three steps, 19.7 inches for four steps and 22.8 inches for five. The title says the stair reaches up to 25 inches, and that is 2.2 inches above the five-step height (25 minus 22.8 is 2.2). The guide uses the bullet figure, and it says so on the card. The stairs have a non-slip bottom and a plush outer layer, and the bullets say the low-angle design prevents joint pressure that jumping might cause. The sources we opened do not say a stair prevents joint pressure, so the claim stays with the listing.
The mattress is the one product whose title uses the word orthopedic and whose bullets do not. Its bullets describe a 4 inch thick honeycomb-style core in three sizes, a detachable non-slip bottom, and a reversible side for winter and for cooling. The title adds waterproof and orthopedic. AKC says many dogs, not only senior dogs, can benefit from orthopedic beds, and that is a reason to look at the support, but it is not a claim about this mattress. For a plush orthopedic bed from another brand, see plush orthopedic pillowtop dog bed. The listing manufacturer is Apollo, while the brand field reads ZOMISIA, so this guide reports both names.
The food container
The food container is a wheeled storage bin for dry dog food. Its bullets give a range from 7 to 50 pounds of food, which is a span of 43 pounds (50 minus 7 is 43), and its title gives 40 to 50 pounds. The specifications give a capacity of 45 liters and a set of dimensions, 16.97 by 13.07 by 23.78 inches. The bullets say the container has four wheels, a date tracker and a scoop, and that it collapses when empty. The bullets also say the maximum varies with the density of the food.
The bullets say the container is made from BAP-free PP and silicone, and that it protects food from leaks. Those are claims about the material, and the sources we opened do not cover food storage containers. The sentence in the bullets that says no harmful chemicals leach into the food is the seller’s wording, and this guide does not repeat it as a finding.
This is a storage container, not a bowl. A dog that eats from a bowl still needs a separate feeding dish. The guide keeps the container in the set because the listing sells it as a dog product, and it labels the card as storage.
Where the listings disagree
These are the conflicts in the listing record. Where a title and a bullet disagree, the bullet is the figure we use. Where the bullets and the specifications disagree, both figures are shown.
- The 36-inch hard-sided crate’s bullets give 27.95 by 18.9 by 21.65 inches. Its specifications give 36.42 by 24.2 by 26 inches. We give both.
- The 28-inch crate with a bed mat names a 36-inch size in its bullets. Its specifications describe only the 28-inch model.
- The 28-inch crate with a woodgrain finish gives Pet Type as Cat, Dog, Small Animal, while Target Species reads Dog.
- The grey cooling mat’s title says 41 by 27 inches, while its specifications give 14.57 by 5.31 by 1 inches.
- The blue cooling mat’s bullets list sizes for cats, small puppies, medium and large dogs. Its title and specifications give 41 by 27 inches, and the bullets name no single size, so we use the title and specification figure.
- The stair set’s title says up to 25 inches. Its five-step bullet gives 22.8 inches. We use 22.8.
- The mattress title says orthopedic and waterproof. Its bullets make neither claim, and the waterproof wording appears only in the title and a specification line. We follow the bullets.
- The mattress manufacturer is Apollo, while its brand field reads ZOMISIA.
- The food container’s title gives 40 to 50 pounds, and its bullets give 7 to 50 pounds. We use the bullets.
- The soft-sided crate’s specifications give polyester as the material, while its bullets describe iron pipe frames and 600D Oxford fabric. We follow the bullets for the frame and give the polyester figure as the specifications’ own term.
- The cot’s bullets give a 150 pound capacity, and its specifications give no weight figure. We give the bullet figure with that caveat.

How we chose
- We started with the twelve Zomisia products in the research pool. All twelve are listed under the Zomisia brand, and most name Apollo as the manufacturer in their specifications.
- We kept all twelve. Each is sold as a dog product, and none is a replacement part or an accessory alone. The food container is a storage product, and the card says so.
- Each card uses the listing’s own bullets and specification table. The research pool holds no prices, ratings, review counts or sales ranks for these products, so none appears in this guide.
- The cards follow the order of the tables: crates first, then the cot, the stairs, the cooling pads, the food container and the mattress. They are not ranked.
- Each card gives who the product suits, who should skip it and at least one limit that the listing states.
What we could not verify
- What the Q-Max figure means, and whether any cooling pad lowers a dog’s body temperature. The listings give the figure without a method, and the sources we opened do not define it.
- Whether the mattress or the cooling bed helps a dog with arthritis. AKC says many dogs can benefit from orthopedic beds, and Cornell describes the disease, but neither source compares these products.
- Whether the crates are rated for a chewing dog. The listings give no chew rating, and the sources we opened do not compare crate materials for chewing dogs beyond the metal-versus-fabric point.
- Which crate dimensions apply to the 36-inch hard-sided crate. The listing gives two sets, and the guide cannot say which is correct.
- Whether the cot’s 150 pound capacity is certified. The bullets state it and the specifications do not repeat it.
- The stairs’ joint benefit. The bullets describe it, and the sources we opened do not say that a stair reduces joint pressure.
- Whether the food container keeps dry food fresh. The bullets say it is airtight and leak-proof, and the listing gives no method for that claim.
FAQ
Which Zomisia crate size does my dog need?
Measure the dog standing, from the top of the head to the floor and from the nose to the base of the tail. Add 3 to 4 inches to each figure, then choose the crate whose listed dimensions cover it. For the 36-inch hard-sided crate, check both sets of dimensions before you buy, because they disagree.
Will a Zomisia cooling pad keep my dog cool?
The listings give a Q-Max figure above 0.5 and say the pads are cooling, but they do not explain the figure. AKC’s heatstroke page says dogs cool mainly by panting and through their blood vessels and paw pads, and it says heatstroke can develop in minutes in enclosed or hot places. A pad may add comfort, but it does not replace shade, water or a cooler room, and it does not prevent heatstroke.
Are the Zomisia stairs high enough for my sofa or bed?
The five-step set is 22.8 inches high in its bullets and has a 60 pound limit in its highlight line. The title says it reaches up to 25 inches, so use the 22.8 inch figure when you measure the bed or sofa you want to reach. If the furniture is higher, choose a taller set or a different product.
Is the Zomisia mattress orthopedic?
The title says orthopedic, and the bullets do not make that claim. They describe a 4 inch honeycomb-style core in three sizes, a detachable non-slip bottom and a reversible side. AKC says many dogs can benefit from orthopedic beds, but this listing does not show that its mattress is one. If your dog has joint pain, ask your vet about the right bedding.
Can the food container hold a full bag of dog food?
No single bag is described in the listing. The bullets give a range from 7 to 50 pounds of food, and they say the maximum varies with the density of the food. The 45 liter capacity in the specifications is the figure to compare with the bag you plan to store, and the wheels and scoop are listed features.
Bottom line
Choose the crate from the dimensions you measure on your dog, not from the title, and use the bullet figure where a title and a bullet disagree. For heat, treat the cooling pads as comfort, not protection, and keep the dog out of enclosed spaces in warm weather.
